DietBet Day 1: Finding Your Fire

Hi all! I’ve got something a little different for you all today. Over the weekend I was watching one of my favorite weight-loss vloggers on Youtube ‘LoseitlikeLauren’ and she mentioned a program called DietBet. How it works is that you chose a game (the game I joined was called PCOS Support Girl, I thought it was rather appropriate), that game has a pot that each player pays into (mine cost $15), then you have 4 weeks from the start of the game to lose 4% body fat. The players that lose their 4% split the pot and make a little money for losing some wight. Being the competitive person that I am, I thought this sounded like fun and it was the perfect motivation to work my hardest the 4 weeks leading up to our Denver trip. So my goal is to lose 11.7 LBS in 28 days. Today is day 1 of 28 and its really helped me be hyper aware of what I’m consuming, how much water I’m drinking (as I type I’m chugging water from my huge water bottle), even how much sleep I’m getting.  I’m hoping this will help me jumpstart healthy lifestyle habits and really put some effort into changing my ways of thinking (its already working). Time to “find my fire” as LoseitlikeLauren says.

So for the next 28 days I’m going to chronologize the events as they unfold. What I eat, how much sleep I’m getting, water intake, workouts, what’s motivating me that day, you name it. I will be posting to instagram and then doing a daily recap here to keep you all up to date. The way I see it is, even though I know I’m going to try my hardest to lose 12LBS in the next month, I’m going to win no matter what. I’m excited!

Today’s run-down:

 

H9 Water

Started my day off with H9 structured water, drinking one 16 oz bottle is like drinking 96oz of water. I’m a partner and I love this stuff! You can read about it here. no breakfast (I’m working on that).

Lunch was HUGE. Leftover zucchini noodles with grilled veggies, chicken sausage + Pesto, Steamed broccoli + Carrots, AND a size salad with no dressing

Mid-day snack at work. I keep all kinds of snacks at work for times when I need something to get me through the day.

Dinner: Grilled chicken, green beans with a little bit of butter, and brown rice. Mmmmm

 

baked oatmeal

After falling asleep for 3 hours (oops), I woke up to write this post. I had the last square of the amazing Cinnamon Roll Baked Oatmeal I made this weekend. Oh and there’s Tammy hoping to get a bite. Ha! Recipe here. Go make it NOW. You won’t regret it.

I’ll get better about documenting what I’m doing. Now I need to get back to bed, because my goal for week one is to be in bed by 11PM (still late but better than my usual 1AM). Day one is done son!

Today I’m finding motivation in :

She’s so goofy, and silly, and real, and I want to be just like Lauren when I grow up. I’m a tad obsessed. Just a tad. #squadgoals
